Frequently Asked Questions
Q. When/where will my daughter(s) play her games?
A. Primarily, Braid, Sassoon and High School Divisions play Monday and Wednesday night (5:45 p.m./7:15 p.m./7:15p.m.), Pigtail and Ponytail Divisions play Tuesday and Thursday night (5:45 p.m./7:15 p.m.). ILGSL works hard to keep this schedule but school events and/or weather related issues may result in teams making up games on different nights and/or times. All games are played at Maple Glen Park (off Glengary Road between Benstein and Wixom Road).
Q. Where/when/how often will my daughter(s) practice?
A. Practice schedules are completely at the discretion of the Manager your daughter(s) will be assigned to. Manager's will be given their team in mid-March and are instructed to contact all their players with a practice and game schedule prepared.
Q. My daughter wants to play with her best friend.
A. Unfortunately, ILGSL has strict rules on the formation of teams. Our primary emphasis is geographical location (except for Sassoon draft). Our Division Directors are volunteers who work very hard in making teams as fair as possible while adhering to the guidelines set forth by the league. We cannot honor requests for special consideration.
Q. When will we be contacted by our Manager?
A. The Manager's Meeting will be held on March 17, 2022. We will be handing out teams and instructing the Managers to make contact with all their players as soon as possible. If you haven't heard by that following weekend, please contact a Board Member (Board List on www.ilgsl.org) as soon as possible.
Q. I would like to Manage/Sponsor/Coach my daughter's team.
A. Please indicate on registration form and make contact with the Division Director or Sponsor Director as soon as possible (Board List on www.ilgsl.org).
Q. How long is the season?
A. Weather pending, we are able to start practices as early as middle of March and Championship Day is held on the last Wednesday in June.
Q. What makes this league so special?
A. Inter-Lakes Girls Softball League is a non-profit organization that was established in 1972 and is solely run by volunteers. ILGSL main goal was to build a recreational softball league to teach young girls the fundamentals of the game. For approximately $150, your daughter will play 12 regular season games, practice anywhere from 1-3 times a week, be guaranteed at least 2 play-off games, receive a hooded sweatshirt, t-shirt and make memories that will last a lifetime.
